Since 2019, Natalia Scarpati has delved into comprehensive research and experimentation with natural stones across various applications. Her approach transcends mere materiality; it’s fundamentally about crafting unparalleled products that amplify the innate beauty and characteristics of natural stones. A significant aspect of her design ethos revolves around repurposing materials from diverse processes and exploring unconventional cuts.
Through rigorous design exploration and introspective research on individual authorship, Scarpati’s creations serve as a manifestation of her evolving personal brand. She draws inspiration from speculative provocations, the intrinsic organic attributes of natural elements, the precision of circular cuts, and the inherent symmetry of the materials. Consequently, Scarpati perceives her distinctive style as an intricate interplay of optics and ambivalence.
Narciso
Narciso is a sculptural and provocative lamp. It is a celebration of specular duality in ornamental stone. The lamp consists of two mirrored stone modules; on one side, there’s illumination with a luminous sphere, and on the other, there’s a circular cut of the same dimension. Every detail is a work of art, and the ornamental stone reveals its true beauty when illuminated.
